Terms & Conditions

Rock’n’Roll Baker reserve the right to modify or amend these conditions at any time and will update them on this page of the website. By ordering from Rock’n’roll Baker and paying your deposit to secure our services you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. 

  • When placing an order we require a £100 booking fee, this is a non-refundable and non-transferable fee to secure the date you require and is also to cover the necessary time given to your order prior to your wedding date - this may include some of the following; administration, emails, phone calls, consultations, etc. Final payment is due no later than 4 weeks before the delivery/collection date. If the final payment is not received a reminder will be sent, if no further payment is made we may consider the order cancelled and the deposit lost.

    We accept bank transfers, card payments or cash as forms of payment.

  • All dates are held for 7 days from the date of quotation. To secure you must pay your £100 deposit within the 7 days. If you decide later than 7 days that you'd like to book the design you have previously discussed you will need to first get in touch with Rock’n’roll Baker and check the quotation/date availability again.

  • Cancellation by the customer: If the order is cancelled, your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, payment is required for any and all expenses already incurred on behalf of the finished product. 

    If the order is cancelled within 3 months of your wedding, there will be a 10-20% cancellation fee depending on peak or off peak season*. This is to cover monies lost as Rock’N’Roll Baker will have turned away other business for your order, it is very unlikely we could re-fill the date at such short notice. Full payment will be retained if a cancellation is made within 6 weeks of the wedding.

     

    Cancellation by Rock’N’Roll Baker Cakes: We shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our reasonable control including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike whatsoever.

    In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, Rock’N’Roll Baker will give as much notice as possible if we are unable to fulfil your order. We will endeavour to find someone else who can produce your order and will refund you any monies already paid.

     

    Postponements: In the event that you wish to postpone your wedding please let us know as soon as possible, your previous booking will be considered cancelled & will be subject to the cancellation policy above and a new booking will be placed for the new date. If you wish to re-book for a new date this will be subject to a further booking fee to secure the new date. New bookings will be subject to any price increases since the original booking was made. Any monies paid over the booking fee will be carried over to your new date​.

  • Tasting boxes are posted throughout the year and cost £28, or if you’d prefer a face-to-face consultation at my home, this can also be arranged. I provide six of the most popular flavours from my menu. If there is a different flavour you would like for your cake, this can be arranged but will not be available for the tasting box.

  • If you have any special dietary requirements please discuss this with us before booking.

    Rock’N’Roll Baker will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to our products.

    The following ingredients are used in our kitchen:

    Milk and other dairy products / Eggs / Nuts: peanuts, pecans, walnuts, almonds, cashews, coconut / Wheat and gluten

    Please note that some food colourings may have an effect on behaviour in children.

    When serving cake “buffet style” to guests with allergens, we advise displaying a “traces may be found” sign. Please let us know if you would like us to provide a printable or hard copy.

  • Any delivery charges will be explained at the time of ordering. Delivery is charged at £1 per mile for the round trip. Minimum delivery fee is £45.

    Collection of orders is free. Collection times will be provided and must be confirmed at least 48 hours prior.  Collection from Orston, NG13 OR Saint James st, NG1 (weekdays only).

    DO NOT place the cake on a seat in the car. The cake should be placed either in the boot or the foot well of the car. Extra care should be taken when driving as some elements may be delicate. Rock’N’roll Baker cannot take any responsibility for damage to cakes once they have left our premises.

  • Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. Support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wire, flower picks, flower tape etc.

  • We have a wide range of cake stands, props, and plinths for hire, priced between £15 and £45. We kindly request that all rented items be returned within one week following your wedding day to accommodate other couples.

    Please note that once you have agreed to our Terms and Conditions, if any props, such as cake stands or plinths, are not returned promptly, you will be issued an invoice to cover the cost of a replacement.

    If, for some reason, you cannot return the items within the agreed time, please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements.

  • We are very active on social media platforms and regularly update with our latest work. On occasion we will photograph your cakes set up at weddings. We reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you. We may also use images by your photographer (with credits). If you would rather us not post a picture of you, your cake, or your event, please let us know.

  • If you wish to make a complaint to us or let us know any concerns after receiving your cake/s, please do so by email to therocknrollbaker@gmail.com. Evidence of any faults, damages or discrepancies should be included.  We do not offer refunds for customers that have simply changed their mind or if the cake has been damaged out of our care. In addition, we always take photographs of the cakes prior to delivery / collection. 

    We do not accept complaints for not liking the taste of our products mainly because individual's tastes are different. We offer a tasting service for a small fee which allows you the opportunity to taste our products should you wish to do so prior to ordering.

    Any refunds will be given entirely at our discretion.
